I’m April — the heart and hands behind the canvas. I’ll always be a Michigan girl at heart, but I’ve spent many wonderful years soaking up the sun in Southern California, where I live near the beach with my kids. Life here inspires me daily, as I balance motherhood, creativity, and everything in between.
My passion for art began early. According to my mom, I’d spend hours tucked away in the playroom, happily lost in coloring and drawing. While I initially studied Studio Art in college, I ultimately earned my degree in Sociology. Still, art never left me — it just shifted to the background. Before returning to painting full-time, I spent over 15 years in the wellness world as a holistic nutritionist and Pilates/fitness instructor.
In 2020, during the quiet of the pandemic, I rediscovered my love for oil painting, and I haven’t looked back since. Today, I consider myself a semi-self-taught artist, continually learning and evolving through practice and passion.
When I’m not in my studio, you’ll probably find me at the gym, chauffeuring my kids somewhere, or simply soaking in the beauty of the world around me — always gathering inspiration for my next piece.
HEY THERE!
